Vostro V13 is the cheaper Adamo

vostro-v13This new incredibly thin laptop starts at only $449. If I’m right, it is thinner than the thickest point of the MacBook air. Don’t expect to get much horsepower from the measly performance of the laptop, but you might want it sometime soon.

MacBook Air Bested Again, This Time by Dell

Dell-Adamo-XPS-13-Now-AvailableDells new Adamo XPS got a incredible feat and a recognizable name as worlds thinnest notebook. At only 9.99 millimeters, yes millimeters, it beats any laptop out there. This laptop has a crazy hinged screen and keyboard, and a swipe to open latch. The only downside to the swipe to open latch is that you can’t open it when the batteries dead. Dell did make a big mistake with the original Adamo, but this is something you want to look out for. Starting at $1,998. A measly price for such a engineering feat.

Netbooks grow 2x better than laptops q2 2009

If you don’t know what q2 stands for it means the second quarter of the year. Yes, netbooks grow more popular over the time that new ones come out, and new and better hardware come out. These tiny under-powered laptops are still the cheap perfectly powered tiny screen notebooks that is perfect for most of us, and is rapidly increasing in sales. Netbooks will probably grow more as long as new editions come out and if they can go to Windows 7.

MacBook Air Review

img_3012

Well I had some time to play with a MacBook Air. And as you might have read, it is not the thinnest laptop yet. I have used the original and the 2ndrevision. The second revision is a little faster because of its’ CPU and bigger hard drive and more memory. The original MacBook Air is very thin, but the battery is not what it advertised. To get 6 hours of battery you need the screen of and the Mac running at the lowest speed and still it is less then 6. I am starting to like the Mac OS and will be using the Mac to program apps for the iPhone/iPod Touch and Mac OS X. I will be using Xcode to program it, because the program is only for mac. Currently the Mac Book Air is selling for $1799 for the base 1.6 GHZ with 2 GB ram and 120 GB hard drive, that will not be a good present to ask for. Especially in this economy.

Now back on the subject. The screen is very bright when put on the highest level. The keyboard is very well made because i usually have no problems typing on it. I love having it backlit so when I am in the car, I can see what I am typing. The web cam is a bit laggywhen I move around to fast, but so far I have only used it in photobooth. The graphics are a bit low, but the 2nd revisions’ is a lot faster. The graphics can handle the simplest online games such as Fantastic Contraption, but when you play it for a while, The fans are on full blast and it is noisy. The one usb port is not a problem for me. Since I don’t need a wifi adapter or a separate keyboard and mouse. I hardly use a optical drive because the only reason I use it is to play movies and install/play games. This mac can do the movies, but the graphics card is a bummer for the games. That is why I play movies on other computers or my projector. The trackpad is very sensitive to my finger because it is made by Apple in 2008. Why do I say that? The trackpad is a big one that I do not struggle to get from one side of the screen to the other.

And another thing…

I will probably have my first app in the summer, but do not suspect it to be in the AppStore, I need to pay $99 dollars a year to do that (unless you donate).

And another another thing…

I am using the MacBook Air to write this ;) .

We all know what they look like so search Google or something.

MacBook air’s “thinnest laptop ever” is beaten by a 1997 laptop.

For those thinking that the macbook air is thin: you are sadly mistaken. If you all would search for the worlds thinnest pc you would get many artlcles that say a pc laptop beats the macbook air in thinness. This laptop was never realesed, but the company had working prototypes. The only problem was cooling that stoped the company from building it. Mitsubishi made the laptop. The macbook air’s thickest point is 0.76 of an inch big. Mitsubishi made a laptop in 1997 that is only 0.72 of an inch thick. This thickness it throughout the whole laptop. It would have retailed for about $6,000. This laptop is the Mitsubishi Pedion.
